Living Out (a good resource about same-sex attraction and the debate over sexuality. You will be happy to see that it centers on people rather than politics and, from what I have read thus far, it is very biblical)

The description found on the homepage:
"We experience same-sex attraction and yet are committed to what the Bible clearly says, and what the church has always taught, about marriage and sex. With friends, we’ve set up this website to articulate a perspective that is not often heard – that of men and women who are honest and open about their same-sex attraction, but who have discovered that obedience to Jesus in this area of life is fulfilling, healthy and authentic. Ebola: Watch and Pray (Check back often for updates)

Citing security threat, Obama expands U.S. role fighting EbolaSept. 16, 2014
A portion of the article summarized:
President Barack Obama on Tuesday called West Africa's deadly Ebola outbreak a looming threat to global security and announced a major expansion of the U.S. role in trying to halt its spread, including deployment of 3,000 troops to the region.

"The reality is that this epidemic is going to get worse before it gets better," Obama said at the Atlanta headquarters of the U.S. Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

"But, right now, the world still has an opportunity to save countless lives. Right now, the world has the responsibility to act, to step up and to do more. The United States of America intends to do more," he added.

Obama's plan calls for sending 3,000 troops, including engineers and medical personnel; establishing a regional command and control centre in Liberia's capital, Monrovia, commanded by Major General Darryl Williams,…

Surprised at Ted Cruz' Being Booed at a Christian Event? A Palestinian Version of Replacement Theology is Likely to Blame

A lot of people were shocked when U.S. Senator Ted Cruz of Texas was booed at an event highlighting Christian persecution. What was further surprising was that he was the keynote speaker. The group was called "In Defense of Christians." The dinner was held at a hotel in Washington, D.C.

What got audience members' ire was the potential presidential candidate's favorable comments about Israel. Among his comments were the following:

After receiving boos, Cruz could be heard saying:

“Those who hate Israel hate America, and those who hate Jews hate Christians, and if this room will not recognize that, then my heart weeps that the men and women here will not stand in solidarity with Jews and Christians alike who are persecuted by radicals who seek to murder them.”

Cruz also stated:

“If you hate the Jewish people, you are not reflecting the teachings of Christ, and the very same people who persecute and m…

Ukraine crisis has a silver lining

When refugees enter Sumy Grace Church and others like it, they see Christ’s love in action in the form of food, shelter, clothing, and more. They also get to study His Word and hear the Gospel, many for the first time.

However, caring for refugees is maxing out Sumy Grace Church’s resources.

“There is a specific need for finances to help take care of these people, because there are no other outside sources,” Paetkau says.
