Today I sat down with a pastor friend (name withheld for safety reasons) from Donetsk. He and his family fled the city over a month ago with hopes that they would soon be able to return. However, the situation has only deteriorated in the past few weeks and along with it their hope for a return to normal life in their home city.

Projected Start Date: August, 2014
Project Coordinator: John and Jacky Taylor
Country: Ukraine

Last updated 8/1/14

As fighting between the Ukrainian Army and Russian separatists continues to intensify, nearly 230,000 have become refugees in their own country and more than 1,000 people have lost their lives.

But those numbers tell only part of the story.

God is at work in Ukraine. As ABWE missionaries and national partners continue to minister to scared and desperate people, they are witnessing the power of the gospel change lives in the middle of turmoil. Dozens of Ukrainian soldiers have accepted our New Testaments and Christian literature. Several Ukrainian church plants have banded together to build relationships and provide food, clothing, shelter and Bibles to the displaced families pouring into their neighborhoods. Our teams are discovering that God is opening hearts that were once closed to the gospel.

You can help. As the chaos in eastern Ukraine increases, so does the need to share the gospel and demonstrate compassion to those in need. With your help, our teams will be able to:

· Help local church plants provide food, clothing and hygienic supplies for displaced families

· Hold worship and outreach events for Ukrainian soldiers

· Provide New Testaments and Christian literature to refugees and soldiers

Your support will help share the hope, peace and love of Jesus Christ with Ukrainians during these challenging times. Will you help?
