I am sure many are praying for the wounded and the families impacted by the evil perpetrated in Boston today

Joni Eareckson Tada has a great little tract online for helping children process suffering and death
Why Bad Things Happen

For teens and adults:
Randy Alcorn's If God is Good, chapter 4

Why Doesn't God Do More to Restrain Evil and Suffering? (also by Alcorn)

Why Is There Death and Suffering? by Ken Ham and Mark Looy

Ultimately, how do we make sense of the senseless?  All we can do is mourn with those who mourn, pray with and for those who hurt, spend more time with our loved ones and look to God for a future with Him without suffering and death.

Update:

A person briefed on the Boston Marathon investigation says the explosives were in 6-liter pressure cookers and placed in black duffel bags.

The person says the explosives were placed on the ground and contained shards of metal, nails and ball bearings. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because the investigation was ongoing.

The person says law enforcement officials have some of the bomb components but did not yet know what was used to set off the explosives.  (from http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/U/US_BOSTON_MARATHON_EXPLOSIVES?SITE=AP&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT&CTIME=2013-04-16-12-13-07 )

A federal law enforcement source told The NY Post there are at least 12 dead and at least 132 people have been treated at seven area hospitals.

Law enforcement sources confirmed to The Post that authorities have a identified a suspect, a Saudi national, who is currently being guarded in a Boston hospital with shrapnel wounds.
CBS reported that an individual is in custody. He is reportedly cooperative and denies involvement in the attack.

So far, three are confirmed dead, one an 8 year old child.  100 have been treated in hospitals with several critical from amputations that occurred from the blasts.  There were two blasts, one perhaps meant to hurt or kill those who came to help the wounded.

Pray for the federal, state and local response and that the perpetrators would be apprehended and brought to justice.  If domestic or foreign terrorists are involved, pray that they would be identified, caught and dealt with accordingly.

And please, pray for Boston and for those whose lives will never be the same.
